“The children can play without any worries for a while and not think about anything, and that is very important.”

I'm Emma, 19 years old, and I'm studying Social Adaptation Sciences. As an intern at Stapsteen, I was able to help supervise a play day at Modelwijk. This was definitely one of the coolest things I got to do during my two-month internship.

“We give those kids a good time and that's what I do it for.”

It was wonderful to see how the children let loose and had so much fun. You could also see how quickly they bonded. They all came from the same neighborhood, and it was a thrill to witness new friendships. We give these children a good time, and that's what I do. The children can play without a care in the world for a while, without thinking about anything, and that's incredibly important.
